The Stars Have Listened, and Our Dreams Have Been Answered!!! SJM Just Finished the First Draft of ACOTAR 6-8 and We’re Not Okay
There are moments in the bookish world that feel like tectonic shifts, where a collective gasp seems to ripple across BookTok, Bookstagram, Booktube and every group chat laced with tabs, theories, and overly excited book girlies + guys. And friends, this is one of them.
Sarah J. Maas, the high lady of plot twists, slow burns, and soul-ripping epilogues, has officially finished the first draft of not one, not two, but three new ACOTAR books and yes, that includes ACOTAR 6. The news broke quietly, and the internet has been spiraling since!
At Torch & Tome, we’re already lighting our candles (cue: “Energizing Page Turner” for a quick re-read of the series or maybe “Nostalgic Comfort” because the mystery about who these next books will be about has us NERVOUS) We are preparing our hearts for what’s next because let’s be honest SJM is not playing around!
What We Know (Which Isn’t Much, But We’re Spiraling Anyway)
Sarah confirmed that she completed a triple-book arc draft and has turned it in to her publisher. We don’t have titles. We don’t have release dates. No cover art yet. We don’t even know who will be narrating these stories, though theories are multiplying faster than Azriel’s shadows.
But that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it? This glowing unknown, this bookish pulse in the air and all over the internet really. The knowledge that a world we thought we knew, one we’ve underlined and re-read and fan-arted into oblivion…is about to open its doors again.
The Candle Has Been Lit (And So Has The Timeline)
Here at Torch & Tome, we live for these moments. The promise of a new installment means more than just plot! It means rituals. It means rereading the series for the third time, it means annotating like it’s an Olympic sport, it means pairing your reading corner with just the right scent, playlist, and warm drink paired with a chocolate or two.
You can bet we’re already dreaming up ACOTAR-inspired reading rituals to help you prep your soul (and your shelves) for the return to Prythian. Think: night court blues and blacks, herbal notes from the Spring Court, and maybe a touch of smoke and leather for those Illyrian training grounds.
So What’s Next?
We wait. We scream. We chat It up in our book clubs and group chats. We light another candle.
And we prepare! Emotionally, mentally, and atmospherically—for the inevitable heartbreak, redemption, and shadow-winged chaos that SJM will undoubtedly bring.
One thing’s for certain: the next chapter of the ACOTAR universe is real, it’s written, and it’s coming for us. Until then, let’s speculate, and find comfort in the glow of story. Our to-be-devastated hearts are ready.
(…Mostly.)
P.S. Got an ACOTAR theory? A ship you’re scared she’ll sink? Drop it over on our socials, we want to hear from our fellow candlelit obsessives. Happy burning!
